In this section you can find all the eTwinning projects we implement for the \u201cKotronis Schools\u201d, our actions, the children\u2019s activities, as well as our achievements.<\/strong><\/p>\n

E-Twinning is a European initiative through which schools from different European countries, using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) tools, work together to gain educational, social and cultural benefits.<\/p>\n

E-Twinning gives schools the opportunity to learn together, share their perspectives and create new friendships.<\/p>\n

It offers a platform for staff (teachers, head teachers, headmasters, librarians, etc.) working in a school in a participating European country to communicate, collaborate, carry out projects with their students, share and, in short, be part of Europe\u2019s most exciting learning community.<\/p>\n

All European students will have the opportunity through eTwinning and assisted by their teachers, to participate in joint pedagogical projects with a school from another European country. This action encourages youth from different countries to learn about each other and about their school and family culture, while practising their ICT skills. eTwinning improves the pedagogical process, while schools see it as a value-adding activity to conventional learning. However, this is not the only objective of eTwinning, which goes beyond the narrow concept of thematic cooperation between schools but also aims at a full and consistent cooperation between schools at all levels ( students, teachers, classes and school management).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The Senior High School of our Schools implements as a coordinator the European eTwinning project \u201cSmartWasteManagementSensors\u201d. This is a STEM project that aims to create a mechanism to control the capacity of waste bins by using an arduino board and the ability to remotely inform the waste collection vehicles. The aim is to save energy by reducing unnecessary trips and the resulting positive environmental footprint.<\/p>\n

To implement the project, students program an Arduino board and design and 3Dprint components for the final construction. Solving the problem posed as the basis for the implementation of this project (energy saving from better waste management) enhances the students\u2019 investigative ability to find the solution, thus contributing to the development of observation skills, experimentation and practical use of science and technology.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The Senior High School of the Kotronis Schools implements an Erasmus+ KA229 project of two years (2020-2022), entitled \u201cMonsters In Danger of Extinction\u201d. In the framework of this project, our senior high school collaborates with \u201cIES Miguel de Unamuno BHI\u201d located in Bilbao, Spain, as well as with the \u201cSpanish Society of Classical Studies\u201d, the \u201cAssociation for the Promotion of the Greek Language Periplo\u201d and the \u201cNational Museum of Reproductions\u201d of Bilbao, which participate in the project as external partners. In this Erasmus programme, students study mythical beings from the pantheon of ancient Greek and Roman mythology, the way they have been reflected in art and ancient Greek and Latin literature, and their repercussions in contemporary Western culture. The programme includes close cooperation between teachers and students with the mentioned parties, as well as travel and exchanges in both countries.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

is the title of the new European eTwinning project implemented this year by the students of the second grade of the Senior High School of the Kotronis Schools.<\/p>\n

The project focuses on the social media with which teenagers are familiar with and aims to develop their reflection on their unseen aspects. It encourages them to look behind the glamorous image of people living perfect lives on social media and raises a number of questions: How has social media changed our sense of reality? In what ways do influencers have an impact on the economy and commerce? How can we have a positive digital footprint using social media? What is copyright and why is it so important to protect it? Students will attempt to answer all these questions by implementing a variety of activities that directly touch their teenage interests. The project involves schools in Greece, Hungary, Italy, Spain, France, Hungary, Spain and Romania and will be completed in May 2022.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The students of the first grade of junior high school participate in the school year 2021 \u2013 2022 in an eTwinning project entitled \u201cAmazing Species\u201d, in collaboration with schools in France (Coll\u00e8ge Yves Coppens) and Lithuania (Vilniaus Pranci\u0161kaus Skorinos gimnazija).<\/p>\n

The aim of the project is to familiarise students with different species of animal and plant organisms and to introduce them to biodiversity and its importance. Through the project students have the opportunity to cooperate with their peers from other countries, using the English language and to reflect in a pleasant way on contemporary issues of Biology and Environment.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

This school year, the students of the Senior High School of the Kotronis Schools will implement a European eTwinning project on Europe. The project aims to raise their awareness of the values of parliamentarianism and political democracy in the EU.<\/p>\n

It aims to bring them into contact with issues concerning the structure, operation and role of the institutions of the European Union, to help them understand its political and legal framework and to make them aware of their rights as European citizens. Through a series of activities, students from the 11 countries involved in the project will have the opportunity to communicate, interact and cooperate with each other, creating a wide range of products. In this way, they will foster respect and tolerance for difference and understand the importance of active citizenship, which implies being informed about the common good and knowing one\u2019s rights and obligations as a citizen. In this way, this project aims to reinforce the students\u2019 identity as European citizens who actively participate in political developments within the European Union.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
