Our philosophy

Kotronis Schools is a Greek private school that supports students throughout their educational journey, from early childhood to adolescence. We believe that fragmented knowledge makes it difficult to understand the connection between individual parts and the whole. For this reason, our educational planning follows a unified approach from Kindergarten through High School.

At each school level, the emphasis gradually shifts from rich educational activities to purely academic learning. The aim is for students to graduate from High School with the necessary foundations for successfully continuing their studies at higher education institutions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which school levels does Kotronis Schools offer?
Kotronis Schools offers a complete educational journey for children and teenagers aged 4 to 18, from Kindergarten through High School, within a unified and modern learning environment. The educational process is designed so that each school level naturally follows on from the previous one, offering children stability, pedagogical consistency and meaningful academic progress. At the same time, particular emphasis is placed on the development of skills, the cultivation of values such as respect and cooperation, and the creation of a safe and supportive learning environment. Through modern educational practices, an international outlook and personalised support, the school’s aim is to prepare students not only for their academic path, but also for the demands of modern society.
What is the school’s daily schedule?
The school’s core daily schedule is from 08:15 to 14:05. An extended programme is also available until 16:05, giving students the opportunity to take part in:
  • preparation for the next school day,
  • additional learning support,
  • creative and educational activities.
The programme is designed to meet the needs of modern families, offering children an organised and safe environment after the end of the core school day.
Can we visit the school before enrolling?
Of course. Families can schedule a personal meeting and tour of the school premises, giving them the opportunity to get to know the philosophy, facilities and people of Kotronis Schools. During the visit, parents can receive detailed information about the educational programme, the daily schedule, activities, transport options and the school’s overall pedagogical approach. They can also see the spaces where students spend their school day and gain a meaningful understanding of everyday school life. At Kotronis Schools, we place great value on personal tours and direct communication with each family. We believe that choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a parent can make, which is why we dedicate the necessary time and attention to each family, providing all the information they need in order to feel confident in their decision. Particular importance is placed on building a relationship of trust and meaningful communication from the very first meeting, as we believe it is essential for the school and parents to share a common educational philosophy and set of values.
Is student transport available from Patras and other areas?
Yes. The school operates an organised student transport network from Patras, Nafpaktos, Messolonghi, Aigio and the wider areas of Western Greece, with the aim of ensuring safe and comfortable daily travel for students.
How long does transport from Patras usually take?
Given that more than 60% of the student body comes from the wider Patras area, the school operates an organised and consistent transport network, designed to serve the daily needs of families safely and reliably. There are currently five different routes to and from Patras and the surrounding areas, covering a large part of the city and its suburbs. For many areas of Patras, daily transport takes approximately 20–50 minutes, with an average duration of 32 minutes, depending on the departure point and the school route. Routes are organised with the aim of providing the greatest possible comfort and minimising inconvenience for students. For many families, the daily attendance of a large number of students from Patras is further confirmation that access to the school is practical and fully manageable on a daily basis.
What facilities does the school have?
The school’s facilities have been designed to offer a modern, safe and functional environment for learning and creativity across all ages. The school includes:
  • modern classrooms,
  • computer and technology labs,
  • physics/geography and chemistry/biology labs,
  • music and visual arts rooms,

How does the school communicate with parents?
Cooperation between school and family is a key part of the educational process, and we consider continuous and meaningful communication with parents especially important. Families are regularly informed about their children’s progress, daily school life and overall development through:
  • personal meetings with teachers by scheduled appointment,
  • telephone communication during designated parent update hours,
  • the school’s digital platform, which provides ongoing updates and key information about school life.
At the same time, the school secretary’s office is available to parents every day, guiding them and directing them to the appropriate department or person who can respond promptly and responsibly to any matter or question. Our aim is for every family to feel that they have direct access, cooperation and support throughout the school year.
Is the school suitable for families returning from abroad?
Certainly. The school has an international outlook and experience in supporting students who come from different educational backgrounds or return from abroad. The availability of English-language programmes and the British Curriculum, in partnership with Pearson, significantly supports children’s smooth adjustment and the continuation of their educational journey within an internationally oriented environment. At the same time, in close cooperation with parents, personalised support is provided to students, with the aim of ensuring a smooth transition into the new school environment, both academically and socially. Particular importance is placed on understanding each family’s needs and goals, so that the school can meaningfully support their aspirations and help every child feel safe, confident and at ease from their very first steps in the new environment.
Is there a summer activity programme?
Yes. Kotronis Schools organises a structured summer camp every year for children aged 4–12, offering a safe, creative and enjoyable environment during the summer months. The programme begins immediately after the end of the school year and runs until 31 July, covering a large part of the summer holidays and offering meaningful support to families. The summer camp includes a wide range of sports, creative and educational activities, such as cooperative games, sports, swimming, visual arts, music and movement activities, creative workshops and many more activities that encourage children’s imagination, social development and self-confidence. The activities are designed and delivered by experienced teachers and school partners, with the aim of helping children spend their time creatively in an environment of safety, joy and meaningful interaction. At the same time, for many families, the summer camp provides valuable support during the summer period, combining creative occupation, pedagogical care and daily organisation within a familiar and friendly school environment.
