FAQ
Why is choosing the right High School so important for my child?
High School is one of the most demanding and decisive stages of education, as it is the period during which students prepare both for university studies and for adult life. At this stage, adolescents are called upon to manage increased academic demands, set goals, and develop skills that will accompany them in the future.
Choosing the right school is particularly important, as it influences not only the student’s academic path and performance, but also their emotional balance, self-confidence, and overall attitude toward learning and life.
At Kotronis Schools High School, we create an organized, safe, and supportive environment where every student is encouraged to develop their abilities, gain independence, and prepare meaningfully for the challenges of the future. With an emphasis on respect, responsibility, and close cooperation between school and family, we support students during this particularly important stage of their lives.
What educational program does the High School follow and how does it differ from other schools?
The High School curriculum follows the official curriculum of the Greek Ministry of Education, while also being enriched with activities and educational practices that strengthen deep understanding, critical thinking, and effective preparation for the Panhellenic Examinations and future studies.
Special emphasis is placed on English language instruction and the acquisition of internationally recognized certifications, while students also have the opportunity to participate in educational programs, clubs, and activities that enhance both their academic and personal skills.
What mainly differentiates our school is our educational philosophy: creating a school environment that combines high academic standards with meaningful student support. Through organized guidance, individualized attention, and continuous communication with families, we help each student effectively manage the demands of school life and move confidently toward their goals.
How are critical thinking and personal development encouraged in High School?
At Kotronis Schools High School, we believe that education is not limited to exam preparation, but aims at shaping well-rounded individuals with knowledge, values, and life skills.
Through modern educational approaches, assignments, presentations, participation in competitions, and educational activities, students are encouraged to develop their critical thinking, responsibility, cooperation, and initiative-taking abilities.
At the same time, particular importance is given to strengthening students’ self-confidence and emotional support, so that they can respond with balance and maturity to the increased demands of their age and academic journey.
Our goal is for students to graduate not only with strong academic foundations, but also with the necessary skills and values that will help them become responsible and active citizens.
How is my child’s progress monitored and how will I be informed as a parent?
Students’ progress is monitored systematically and consistently by the school’s teachers, both academically and pedagogically. Our goal is to provide continuous support and meaningful guidance to every student throughout the school year.
Parents are regularly informed through scheduled meetings with teachers, during which each student’s progress, goals, challenges, and strengths are discussed. In addition, through the school’s digital platform, parents have direct access to important information regarding their child’s academic performance and daily school life.
The cooperation between school and family is a fundamental part of our philosophy. For this reason, communication with teachers and the school’s educational partners is organized through the School Secretariat, ensuring immediate support, proper coordination, and effective assistance for every student.
What applies to the enrollment of a student coming from a school abroad?
Students who have attended a school abroad may enroll at Kotronis Schools at any time during the academic year, following communication with the School Administration and Secretariat.
To complete the enrollment process, parents are required to provide an officially translated certificate of attendance from the previous school, a birth certificate or official birth registration document, as well as proof of permanent residence.
Placement in the appropriate grade is determined following an evaluation by the School Administration, in collaboration with the Directorate of Secondary Education, ensuring the student’s smooth academic and social adjustment to the new environment.
With significant experience in supporting students coming from different educational systems and international environments, our school ensures that every child feels safe, accepted, and supported from their very first day.
