On the occasion of the celebration of the 452nd anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto, the students of our Primary School had the opportunity to take part in their first educational excursion of the new school year.
The first stop was the impressive “Botsaris Tower”, where students from all grades were guided through the interior exhibition space, which permanently hosts paintings and maps related to this historic naval battle.
Then, walking through the traditional cobbled streets of the historic town, the students visited the Fethiye Mosque, where they attended the art exhibition of the distinguished Greek painter Giannis Adamakis, entitled “Naus + Pignymi”. The exhibition depicts historical events, stories of the sea, summer reflections, and deep emotions.
The final stop was “Cervantes Park”, where our students had the chance to admire the statue of Miguel de Cervantes, the Spanish writer who became an important figure connected to the history of the Battle of Lepanto.
Undoubtedly, this educational visit offered our students the opportunity to explore remarkable exhibits and gain a deeper understanding of the historical events surrounding the Battle of Lepanto.
