George Stathatos was born and lives in the city of Nafpaktos. He is a professor of Physical Education with undergraduate studies in the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the University of Athens and postgraduate studies in Education Administration of the Department of Economics and Business Administration of the University of Patras. He holds an A’ category basketball speciality diploma, a professional lifeguard diploma and a European First Aid diploma. He speaks English and has a computer operator certification. He has recorded intense sporting activity as an athlete in distinguished Greek basketball teams, with participation in the National Junior National Team and as a coach of the Schools, achieving significant distinctions in the Panhellenic School Basketball Games for high schools. In addition, he has been a teacher of Physical Education and a coach in public and private institutions. At the same time he is a member of the Greek Basketball Coaches Association and since 2009 he is Technical Director of the Academy of PAS Nafpaktos. In addition to his educational training and professional experience, he has participated in numerous training seminars and implemented programs and actions in the field of health, physical education and education. His involvement in youth education and sport is a priority throughout his career.
